What? You have never heard of glutathione? It's all around you! No, really! Do not be afraid, though. It's a good thing. Glutathione is an antioxidant that resides in your cells, helping the body defend itself against cell degeneration. While it occurs naturally in the right amounts in your body when you consume a healthy, nutritional diet, if you're not eating the right foods in the right amounts, you may not be getting enough glutathione in your system. Not enough glutathione in your system can lead to skin problems becoming worse instead of getting better. Compared to some of the other skin whitening techniques out there, glutathione is very safe. As a substance that naturally occurs in the body, it's something you need to have. Some say that glutathione taken orally produces no results at all, but other studies show that taken in the right doses, glutathione has the ability to help lighten your skin color. One thing to help the effects of glutathione is to take a supplement that combines it with other antioxidants like Vitamin C and Vitamin E. Glutathione, because of what it is and how it works, has anti-aging properties. It can't make you younger, of course, but it can help slow down the wear and tear that happens with your skin as you get older. Glutathione also helps to boost the human body's overall immune system. If you didn't know, your immune system is something in your body that helps combat viruses and other bad bacteria. People with a very healthy immune system tend to get sick a lot less than people whose immune system doesn't work the way it should. Studies have also shown that glutathione helps the liver detoxify the body. With all of its benefits, you'd think everyone would be taking some sort of glutathione supplement. As I said, though, not a lot of people know about this great thing in their bodies and how it affects their overall skin health. From skin whitening to overall healthy skin, glutathione has many positive effects when it's plentiful enough in the body's cells. If people don't know what glutathione, they most likely aren't aware of whether or not they have enough in their body to do a good job of keeping them young, vibrant and healthy. Someone should start a glutathione awareness campaign. Maybe someone design an I Heart Glutathione t-shirt? A glutathione blog? Ok, maybe those ideas are a little far fetched, but with more being found out about how to increase glutathione levels in the body, more and more people are bound to hear about it and its benefits to skin health. Until that time, do your part and spread the word about glutathione.
